We encourage all Office of Justice Programs (OJP) Bargaining Unit Employees (BUEs) to join as members. Dues strengthen our collective voice and support things like:
- Receiving administrative support from AFSCME District Council 20 as a member of Federal unions.
- Receiving legal advice and guidance for various issues, such as renegotiating the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Reasonable Accommodations, Unfair Labor Practices, and arbitration.
- Supporting Federal legislative efforts via AFSCME International and AFSCME District Council 20, resulting in paid parental leave for federal employees, pay raises, and protecting benefits.
- Providing OJP members with health and bereavement emergency resources.
- Providing training and certification for AFSCME Local 2830 officers.
- Sponsoring events for employees, such as the “Commemoration of the Memphis Sanitation Workers’ Strike of 1968 and Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Support of the Strikers” and the Baltimore Museum of Industry's Bull & Oyster Roast.
